
The Baldwin Bridge was Connecticut’s largest construction project at over $94 million. The Baldwin Bridge is a massive concrete segmental bridge composed of twelve spans crossing that cross Connecticut River between Old Saybrook, Connecticut and Old Lyme, Connecticut. The bridge carries Interstate 95 and U.S. Route 1, with average daily traffic counts well over 85,000 vehicles per day.
The two twin four-lane bridges are each 2,528 ft. in length. The superstructure is composed of 488 match cast precast segment that comprise its 12 spans, which range from 178 to 275 ft.
