Arched Bridge Restoration

Location: City of Norwalk, Connecticut

Problem: During a planned remediation project on a poured in place arch-bridge on cantilevered walkway
Remediation: Vacuum Injection on the face of the Wall St. Bridge to seal & fill cracks

Precast Girders Repair

Location: Interstate 84–over Skungamaug River

Typical precast short span bridge beam with end bearing shear cracking. Connecticut DOT required vacuum injection as criteria for repair in order to accept the girder
Problem: New concrete girders were damaged prior to delivery to the construction site and were determind by state inspectors to be not-satisfactory for use.
Remediation: Vacuum Injection of the girder bearing-ends to re-establish the integrity of the fractured, damaged concrete members.

Road Repair

Location: Buffalo Niagara International Airport

Vacuum Impregnation of Slabs for the NYSDOT at the Genesee Road Access for the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport
Problem: New Pour Road Slab Failures, non-reinforced concrete slab failure at a very high-traffic entrance to the airport. State inspections found surface cracking and high porosity in the newly poured slab.
Remediation: Balvac Vacuum Impregnation to fill surface open cracks and to solidify the high porosity for the friable finish.
